Pastor Silton Browne, President of the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, met with a cross-section of the church officers of the British Virgin Islands, to discuss the financial situation of the conference and the way forward. Summarised, the motto of the North Caribbean Conference (NCC) is "Nurturing Christian Connectedness" (NCC - the same acronymn used for the name of the conference. President Browne noted the ten core values upon which the conference is based; these are, in alphabetical order,
1. Accountability
2. Commitment
3. Community
4. Excellence
5. Faith
6. Integrity
7. Love
8. Respect

After the church officers were given this basic information, a brief synopsis was given of the financial situation of the conference, the reasons why the situation is the way it is and methods of upkeep and remediation in some core areas. It was also noted that one of the foci of NCC for this year is the ABC Store.
To culminate the meeting, President Browne introduced Mr. Carlos S. L. Francis, the Product Line Manager and Accountant for a new vegetarian food line for which NCC has the sole distributorship in the Caribbean - the Absolute Vegetarian food line. Following this, there was sampling of the vegetarian products - they were delicious!!!
This meeting was one that educated the membership about the organisation of NCC, its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. It was a highly educating event! Consequently, some officers voiced their appreciation for such a meeting and expressed that they would like to have such meetings more frequently.
